Engagement Date: May 15, 2011

Engagement Story:

Last spring, Scott and I were out at the farm to hunt turkey.  Unfortunately the turkeys were not cooperating. On Sunday we started getting ready to head back to Minnesota.  Before we left, we cracked open some beers and went for a walk to put up game cameras on the saddle.  As we were walking back, Scott said he wanted to sit down on this little prairie knoll overlooking the tree-covered hills of Richland County.  As we sat there looking out over the beautiful driftless area of Wisconsin, finishing our New Glarus brews, I thought to myself... he is going to ask me to marry him!  Seconds later he proposed! No joke - even though I was surprised, I knew it was the right place and the right time.  I asked him soon after when he decided to ask me and he told me, "oh, like 2 minutes ago when we sat down".  It was spontaneous and perfect.  So even though Scott didn't bag his turkey that weekend, he bagged a Berkley.

Wedding Details:

Date:  Saturday, June 9, 2012
Where: Ceremony will be at Peckham's farm and the reception will be at Mick Park in Hub City
Time:   Ceremony: 2:00 pm at the Farm
* Please arrive earlier (around 12:30 or 1pm) to allow enough time to park your car at Mick Park and catch a shuttle or walk to the farm (see below for more details).
Champagne toast and 'mom-made' desserts: 2:30 pm
Reception:  Mick Park - 5 pm, picnic dinner at 6 pm

Since the ceremony will be at the Farm, please wear comfortable attire, especially shoes.
Ladies, you might want to leave your high heels at home!

Directions to Mick Park
  •       From Madison or La Crosse, take US Hwy 14 to Richland Center, Wisconsin.
  •       Turn north on Wisconsin Hwy. 80 and drive 10.5 miles north to Hub City.
(do not blink- you will miss it!)
  •       Mick Park is on the left behind the Hub Pub - there is a baseball field and a big shelter. This is where we would like people to park due to the limited space up at the Farm.  See below for more details about parking.
  • Peckham's Farm is less than ½ mile Southwest of Mick Park. Coming from Mick Park, turn right on Housner Lane (gravel road). Ignore the junkyard (that is not ours!) and keep heading west on the gravel road. Keep left at the "y" and head up the hill to the farm.

Parking:
We do not have enough space for everyone up at the Farm, so please park at Mick Park and we will provide you with a shuttle or if you so desire, the park is within walking distance to the Farm.

Accommodations:
Camping is available at Mick Park for $10/tent or $12-15/camper.  The park is a huge open area and can accommodate lots of tents and campers.   We are going to try and limit driving as much as possible so this is a great option!  There are several other great camping destinations in the area as well.  Pier Natural Bridge Park is just a few miles down the road and Wildcat Mountain State Park is a little farther, but a great place.

If you prefer not to camp, we have reserved a block of rooms in the two hotels listed below in Richland Center.  Call the numbers listed, ask to reserve a room in the block for Scott and Lizzy's wedding by

GIFTS AND REGISTRY INFO:
We do not expect gifts!  Your presence at our wedding is most important to us.  However, if you would like to get a gift, we would really appreciate a monetary donation towards our honeymoon. We have very limited space in our tiny, little home in Colorado - so green paper would be perfect!  We are planning on visiting Hawaii immediately following the wedding and then eventually go to New Zealand once we are more established in our new jobs in CO and WY.  So that would be a great choice!!!  If you would rather gift something other than money, below is a link to our registry at REI with a few items that would be handy for our honeymoon and our adventures out west!
